When Gill Met Joe Part 2

In this second part of When Gill Met Joe, filmed on 3 March 2024 when I was guest speaker at a public event organised by Gill Bell, Convenor of North West Humanists, in Sligo we:

• Read about the best birthday present I ever received (it was a chocolate biscuit!)

• Become emotional in public reading aloud about the birth of my son

• Discuss the indoctrination of children into religion and how hard it is to rewire the brain after it has been indoctrinated into religion in childhood

• Explore the notion of the ‘spoilt priest’ and the shame often imposed on men of an earlier generation to mine who did not proceed to priestly ordination

• Discuss the word spirituality and what it might mean to a person who is free of religious beliefs
